You can now be invisible in GMail Chat
February 28, 2008 by Balaji
Google has included invisible mode feature in GMail Chat last friday (Feb 22, 2008). This feature allows you to appear offline and still chat with your friends unlike MSN Messenger. I feel that this is one of the best feature in Yahoo Messenger which is now made available to us in GMail Chat. Please note that this feature is not availble on GTalk Clients. Check out GMail’s Official Blog for more information.

i wonder when they will introduce full fledged emoticons.
(if am not mistaken they dont have the ones as in yahoo or msn)
yeah… thats true.
they still don’t have that yet!
I have a plugin that allows the smileys.. I can give it to you if you want… It has some innovative smileys besides the normal ones too.. It is quite nice…
Sure Himank, it will be useful for everyone….

Hey Himank, I am having difficulties downloading it… can you also give the instructions mate?
You can do two things.. If you directly click on it.. The file will be opened as html just save the page as filename.exe
or
you can right click and save the files as filename.exe
Hope this does the trick..
meanwhile I will try and see if I can upload the files in “exe” fromat!!
Btw any idea why in my gmail this invisible thing is not coming.. Do I have to activate anything for it???
Thanks for that info Himank…
GTalk Client doesn’t have that feature yet. This is currently available only on the GMail version of their IM.
Its exciting to hear that Gmail introduced Invisible mode. This will be really useful, during project discusssions, as you may want to speak only to the project team and can be hidden from other friends with out hurtin gthem…
